The Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine transferred funds for payment of monetary assistance to families of Ukrainian citizens illegally imprisoned by the Russian Federation and Ukrainians released from Russian captivity.
In particular, 10 families of Ukrainian citizens illegally imprisoned by the Russian Federation, who are currently behind bars, will receive payments for legal assistance in the amount of UAH 100 000. In addition, another 18 Ukrainian citizens released from Russian captivity were recognized by the Interdepartmental Commission as those, who were imprisoned as a result of armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine. All of them will also receive monetary assistance worth UAH 100 000 each from the state.
"We support all our citizens, who were illegally imprisoned by Russia and went through hell of the Russian repressive machine. We also financially support the families of those Ukrainians, who are still behind bars in the Russian Federation and make every effort to ensure that all of them will be released from Russian captivity," said Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine Ihor Yaremenko.
Let us recall, that two weeks ago the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine resumed the work of the Interdepartmental Commission for consideration of issues related to the recognition of persons deprived of their personal freedom as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine and the implementation of measures aimed at their social protection.
The decision to allocate funds is in fact an additional instrument of public capture of responsibility of the Russian Federation as an aggressor state, for violation of rights of Ukrainian citizens and their subsequent restoration at the level of institutions of the European Court of Human Rights.
